In case you didn't know, Jeff Healey's fame came with his 1988 hit single 'Angel Eyes', and you might have seen him performing AND acting one of Patrick Swayze's forgettable movies, Road House. While "Angel Eyes" was a terrific song, it only scratches the surface of Healey's extortionary talents.
Get Me Some came after a 5-year hiatus in which the band lost it's contract with it's record company, so this album was released under his own Canadian label, Forte Records. It received little promotion and sold very poorly, which is a shame because it is one remarkable record. There a several fantastic tracks, and Mr. Healey plays with emotion and skill rarely seen from today's mainstream musicians. Most tracks stand out, with only one or two not withstanding the test of time. The opener, Which One, is the heaviest, and there are several mid-rockers and ballads. When you hear Macon Georgia Blue, you'll never be the same.
If you like ANY kind of music, do yourself a favor and buy this album. You won't regret it.
