Sinopsis:
Thomas y sus amigos descansan después de escapar del laberinto, sintiendo que ya pueden estar a salvo de los peligros. No obstante, unos gritos perturbados los despiertan, teniendo que enfrentarse a una realidad todavía más aterradora que la anterior. Los pasos en ese nuevo mundo son cada vez más peligrosos y sus compañeros se enfrentan a un reto mayor: buscar indicios de la misteriosa y poderosa organización conocida como WCKD. Su viaje los lleva a "La quemadura", un paisaje desolado repleto de obstáculos inimaginables. Tampoco pueden confiar en los adultos, hambrientos y delirantes, que los persiguen y acechan por ese mundo apocalíptico. En esta nueva aventura de supervivencia, Thomas no sólo debe descubrir todo su pasado, sino saber en quién debe confiar para seguir adelante. Con luchadores de la resistencia, los clarianos deberán enfrentarse a las fuerzas de CRUEL y descubrir los planes que tienen para ellos.
